Most Annoying Thing About Television

What is the most annoying thing about television to you? For me, it's they put things on the screen without saying them. Example, call the number on your screen or send money to the address shown, or when they have a commercial with only music and a bunch of visual stuff so that you have no clue what it's about, or the worst and the scariest for me, when they have weather warnings that flash across the screen and don't say a thing. It's either they cut into a show with nonsense or they don't say anything when it counts. And for some reason, that thing on ABC "and now, time and temperature" really bugs the hell out of me! So what bothers you guys?

It's what you just mentioned, plus not being able to use the menus.

Simmilar to yours. When they advertise a show and they only they show the time of broadcasting on the screen. Very anoying. They do it a lot in Cyprus. And last week they had a song competition and before of each song they had some music playing and they had the song details such as the composer and the singer but we didn't have a clue us who happened to be blind. Very anoying.

Ooh, I forgot about menus, and also about televisions themselves, how they don't have numberpads on them. Thankfully, I have one from the 70's and one from the 80s and both have the numbers right on it and no ridiculous menus of any kind. Let's throw in tivo and other such things too, just for the sake of it. I mean, Mom's partner Joanie is obsessed with her tivo, loves it etc, but it's totally inaccessible.

I have digital cable which displays the shows and their time on the screen when you flip the channels. I wish there was a way to turn on a feature where it speaks that information. My mom can get the upcoming shows as well as a discription of what it is about.

how about when you're watching a show that's part of a series, and there's a cliff-hanger at the end of the show until the next episode? That annoys the shit out of me.

God, repeats, repeats and more fucking, repeats, gur'r'r'r'r'r! I thought Ah brilliant, Sky TV, but now we have Sky TV at home, I've seen all I wanted to see, but they just show the same programs on the same channels, over and over and over again, damn them. I can't stand commercial breaks either. God, either put a show on for us to watch or don't put it on at all, but for fuck's sake, I'm sure everybody could go for more than 8.5 fucking minutes, without a fucking, commercial break, gur'r'r'r'r'r!

Too many reality shows. LOL

I agree about them not actually saying the numbers in ads. Though I haven't had a television in... 3 or so years, so I don't really have to worry about that anymore. Other thing that annoys me is that there don't seem to be nearly as many scifi shows as their once was. Now I'm horrid at keeping up with tv and movies in general, but I hang out with some friends that do, at least in the scifi area somewhat, and I haven't heard of any new ones for a bit. It seems most of the tv shows out there that I hear about are just the reality shows or the sitcoms, both of which I have little to no interest in. But like I said, I don't watch much, having no tv, (when I do want a show I just download it), so I'll go read my books instead.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, there's practically nothing on tv worth watching any more. There used to be dramas that were powerful and thought-provoking, comedies that were funny and sometimes thought-provoking, and news programs that were informative. I can't find any of these things on tv any more.

I find the tv really boring, but when I am watching something, the annoying thing is the advertizements in the middle of the programme. I also find it annoying whenthey put a phone number on the screen and don't read it out. I think that the tv shows like Big Brother and x factor or whatever they're called are all very boring and I can find far more exciting things to do than watch tv all the time.

I think I'd better stop writing now before I write an essay! Hahahahaha!

god! I! Hate! Reality! TV!
Also, I wish the audio description was manditory for tv, like close caption. I do watch some pbs, so I get some of it, but not much.

I really want a DVR box that is accessible

Tv in general I have no use for other than two hours a week for wrestling, and even that has gone down the shitter compared to the 80's when they didn't have these bullshit storilines, and they knew how to build up a character. But I agree with everything elce that's a pain in the ass, and don't even get me started on reality shows. Also sitcoms have gone to shit these days as well. I can remember a time when they were actually funny, but not anymore.

When an advertisement for a show says it's tomorrow at 8 but doesn't tell you night or day.
